William H. Lange 80 years of age, formally of Mantua, passed away Sunday April 3, 2022. Bill was born October 22, 1941 in Ravenna Ohio, the son of the late Frank H. and Lillian (Misner) Lange Jr. Bill grew up in Mantua, and had resided in Leroy Township for the last several years. At age 17 he joined the U.S. Navy where he served his country during the Vietnam Era, honorably retiring after 30 years. He later was a school bus driver for 16 years from where he also retired. Bill was gifted as a photographer, his painting skills where well known, and his wood working abilities included making many of his own furniture pieces. Bill loved kids, and looked forward to playing Santa Claus for his family and friends, and his smile will fondly be remembered by all who knew, and loved him. He is survived by his son Daniel (Shirley) Lange of Painesville; his brothers, Gerald (Beth) Lange of Atwater, Jack (Jenny) Lange of Mantua; sisters Michele Ustar of Leroy Ohio, Connie (Harvey) Rager of Newton Falls, Jennifer (Edward) Rogala of Freedom Township, and many other generations of loving nieces, nephews and dear friend Barbara. He was proceeded in death by his daughter Diane, his brothers Edward Lange, Dennis Lange in 2021, and his niece Angela Lundi who passed on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.Calling hours will be Friday, April 8, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Father James Lang. Final resting place will follow at Hillside Cemetery Mantua Village, Ohio, where full Military Honors will be provided by the U.S Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua America Legion Post 193.
