Robert F. Blair, 69 years of age, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 26, 1951, he was the son of the late Floyd and Virginia (Dvorak) Blair. Formerly of Mantua, he presently was a resident of Hiram the past 26 years. During the Vietnam Era, he served with honor in the U.S. Army. He had been employed as a computer technician at NCR Corporation in Cleveland, retiring in 2011. Bob was a very knowledgeable man who felt that each day provided the opportunity to learn something new. His family recalls the Christmas that he gave each grandchild a dictionary to encourage their depth of learning. While Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, it was always “Family First” to him. On November 1, 1969, he married Gail (Lukas) Blair who survives at home. Also surviving are his daughters, Joy (Josh) Luce of Huntsburg, Shannon (Ben) Capriato of Dublin, Ohio, and Kristie (Matt) Swigonski of Garrettsville. His siblings, Karen (Bill) Capshaw of Michigan, Jeannie Pelka of Illinois, 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister Linda Genshock. No calling hours. Cremation has been held. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Elara Caring Hospice, 1530 West Market St., Akron, Ohio 44313, who graciously helped Bob down “The Seven Bridges Road”. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where condolences and memories may be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
