Mildred Schneider, 90 years of age, passed away Monday March 23, 2020 at her residence. Born in Brownstown, Pennsylvania on June 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Olga (Taczanowsky) Knuff. A resident of the Shalersville area the past 59 years, Mrs. Schneider had been employed at the Crestwood Middle School where she was fondly known as “The Lunch Lady” for 20 years. She was actively involved as a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mantua for many years. While Mildred enjoyed trips to the casinos, her most enjoyable times were those spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On September 29, 1956, she married Adelbert R. Schneider who preceded her in death on May 16, 2014. Also preceding were her siblings Clarence Knuff, Helen Turner, Florence Turner and Lillian Benson. Survivors include her children David (Melanie) Schneider of Chisago City, Minn., Janice (Robert) Harkcom of Mantua, Carol (Paul) Giulitto of Ravenna; grandchildren Tara, Tanya, Matthew, Gregory, Mallory, and great-grandchildren Cody, Evalynne, Olivia, Emma, Kara, Grayson, Porter, Easton and Adley. No calling hours or services. A private burial at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville will be held.
