MANTUA – HIRAM

Marjorie C. Vondle, 96 years of age, passed away Tuesday May 12, 2020 at Painesville, Ohio. Born in Shoreham, Vermont on February 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Christine (Vallee) Myotte. A homemaker and area resident since 1953, Mrs. Vondle was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua, where she remained active with all church functions, including always assisting with the church funeral dinners. Over the years, she worked at the Co-Op grocery store in Hiram, Brehm’s Florist, and as a cook at Crestwood Schools. During World War II she also was employed at the Pentagon. She enjoyed flowers, crafts, cooking, and will always be remembered for her warm and friendly smile  wherever you would meet her. She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas Vondle in 1971, her son Dallas C. Vondle in 1986, her sisters Audrey Comb, Murial Janowsky, and her brothers David, Albert, Richard and Theodore Myotte. Mrs. Vondle is survived by her son David (Jean) Vondle of Albuquerque, New Mexico, brother Robert (Arlene) Myotte of Concord, Ohio, sisters Claire Dickens of New Mexico, Janice Hurd of Nevada, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation using social guidelines will be Monday May 18, 2020 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. A private Mass of Christian Burial will then be held 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Twp., Ohio. For those who are unable to attend the funeral mass, yet would like to attend the graveside burial, procession to the cemetery will form at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
