Marilyn V. Stewart, 80 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Tuesday July 21, 2020 at her home in Mantua. Marilyn was God’s Gift to Us on June 15, 1940 at Ravenna, Ohio, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Harriet (Starr) Mills. A lifetime area resident, she was a 1958 graduate of Crestwood High School, following which she graduated in 1973 from Kent State University with a degree in Primary Education. Her love of children and teaching was always present as she taught Kindergarten for Crestwood Schools retiring after 30 years of service. While presently a member of New Life Assembly of God in Aurora, Marilyn also played the piano and organ at Ravenna Assembly of God for 20 years, and at numerous other churches over her lifetime. Following retirement, she and Walt took several Mission Trips sharing their love of God. She and Walt also operated Christmas Tree Hollow Catering business. On October 25, 1958, she married Walter L. Stewart whom survives at their home. Also surviving are her sons W. Mark (Beverly) Stewart of Ravenna, Doug (Diane) Stewart of Spokane, Washington and Steve (Jennifer) Stewart of Mantua; her siblings Alvin Mills and Larry (Rhonda) Mills both of Shalersville and Wilma (Maurice) Radcliffe of Norton. Her grandchildren Monica (Andrew) Pitts, Trevor (Abigale) Stewart, Meredith (Kyle) Stanhope, Tyler (Alissa) Stewart, Daniel (Rebeccah) Stewart, and J. Peter Stewart, and 7 great-grandchildren also survive. Marilyn was preceded in death on October 25, 2000 by her daughter Tammi Ruth Stewart, and her brother Max Mills. No calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 1, 2020, 10:30 A.M. at Ravenna Assembly of God, 6401 St. Rt. 14, Ravenna, Ohio 44266. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Stewart and Rev. W. Mark Stewart. Final resting place will be at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua, Ohio.
