Lin L. Childs (nee Cuthbertson), age 80 of Freedom Township, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at her home, with her devoted and loving partner of 25 years, Jill Williams by her side. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 11, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John and Evelyn Cuthbertson. Lin enjoyed and took pride in working on and maintaining the property that she shared with Jill. She was also an outstanding painter and loved all things artistic. Lin took pride in the countless hours that she spent serving the Wags for Wellness Therapy Dog Program, and cherished every opportunity to help others. Lin is survived by her partner Jill Williams, and their two beloved dogs, Rocky and Gus; her daughter Dawn Childs, two grandsons, Joshua Hummer (wife Sierra) and Ryan Hummer (wife Audrey), and was recently blessed with a great grandchild Eleanor Ann Hummer. Lin will also be sadly missed by many lifelong friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Lin and her beloved therapy dog, Biko, to UH Portage Medical Center, 6847 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna, Ohio 44266, in care of Volunteer Services Wags for Wellness Therapy Dog Program. Cremation has taken place. No other services will be held.
