Kenneth L. Shearer, Sr., 66 years of age, passed away Monday November 9, 2020 at his residence. Born in Warren, Ohio on October 8, 1954, he was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Parker) Shearer. A lifetime Windham resident, he had been employed at Philnat Corporation, and was the former owner-operator of the Marathon Gas Station in Windham. As a member of the Windham Volunteer Fire Department, Ken was active with the turkey raffle, ran the Fire Department Carnavil, and was active with all phases of the department from where he retired after 34 years of dedicated service. Ken had many interests that included playing Bingo wherever there was a game, playing cards, especially Texas Holdem, and was a faithful follower of the AAA Scrappers in Niles. On February 8, 1985, he married Alfreda (McLean) Shearer who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Kenneth (Diane) Shearer, Jr. of Texas, Ryan (Kim) Mclean and Brandy Shearer both of Windham; his siblings Davie (Ronda) Shearer, Edward Shearer and Patricia (Duane) Gibson, all of Windham, Mary (Jack) Barnes of Garrettsville, and Barbara (Larry) Armstrong of Newton Falls. 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive. No calling hours. A graveside funeral service at Windham Township Cemetery will be announced. Assisting at the service will be members of the Windham Volunteer Fire Department.
