Kathleen Stapleton, 72 years of age, was Our Gift to God Thursday March 26, 2020. Kathleen was God’s Gift to Us on December 31, 1947 in East Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late John and AnnMarie (Coffey) Getts. A resident of Lyndhurst for 31 years, she has lived in Mantua the past 13 years. She was a 1965 graduate of Collinwood High School, following which she was employed as an administrative assistant at General Electric Nela Park for 37 years retiring in 2003. Kathleen was devoted to her faith, and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville, and St. Joseph’s Parish in Mantua. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and loved shopping, and can be remembered as saying “Kohl’s would go out of business without her”. On May 24, 1975, she married her devoted husband Lawrence J. Stapleton who survives at home. Also surviving are her dear friends Jim and Bambi Shae of Mantua, Mona Scopilliti of Hiram, several nieces and nephews, and her many cherished church friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Colleen Major. Visitation will be Tuesday March 31, 2020 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail, at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 9:00 A.M.-9:45 A.M. where a private Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. Edward Stafford. Final resting place will then follow at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name are suggested to The Passionist Father. A memorial mass will also be held at a later date.
