John A. Gavin, 86 years of age, passed away Saturday, April 8,2023 at UH Portage Medical Center. John was born in Somerville, MA., on February 7, 1937, the son the of the late George and Helen (Nuff) Gavin. A Streetsboro resident since 1998, he was a former resident of Dallas, Texas, where he had been employed as a warehouse manager at Dr. Pepper. John served with honor in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed watching sports and old movies, yet the most cherished memories that he and his wife created were those sitting together at Put-In-Bay. On July 15, 1993, he married his devoted wife Mary (Bruyere) Gavin who survives at home. His brother Ron Gavin, and brother-in-law Richard Bruyere also survive. No calling hours or services. Cremation has been held. Arrangements are by The Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, Mantua, Ohio where condolences and memories may be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
