AUBURN TOWNSHIP
James Wilson Woolf, 86 years of age of Auburn Township, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Woolf was born on February 23, 1937 in Hartsgrove, Ohio, the son of the late Harold and Florence (Earl) Woolf. A longtime resident of Auburn Township, he retired as a scheduler from Ford Motor Company, Walton Hills Stamping Plant. Mr. Woolf honorably served his country in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Woolf enjoyed attending cruise ins, camping, and was an avid Air Force history buff. He loved his cocker spaniels, that included Fluffy, Killer and Budweiser. He will be remembered by family and friends as a goodhearted gentleman, always caring for others. On October 27, 1988, he married Willa Woolf, who preceded him in death in 2021, and was also preceded by his daughter Sherri Cooper. Survivors include his sons James (Diana) Woolf of Ashville, Ohio, Jeffrey (Cori) Woolf of Chardon, Richard Woolf of Auburn Township, and Willa’s children, Scott Sell, Steven (Cari) Sell and Shanna Pierce-Sell. His brother Gerald Woolf and sister Brenda (Frank) Tyndall, both of Florida, and grandchildren Robert, Megan, Mary, Emily, Annie, Sam, Stanley, Brooke, Jodie and Brodie also survive. Calling hours will be Monday, May 1, 2023 at The Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio, 44255 from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., where his funeral service will then begin at 12:30. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Henderson of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bainbridge. Final resting place will follow at Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Township, where full military honors will be provided by U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post #193.
