James T. Jakosh, Sr., 72 years of age of Aurora, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts., Ohio. Born in Shaker Hts., Ohio, on April 10, 1949, he was the son of the late Charles and Ruby (Thomson) Jakosh. Jim was a graduate of Orange High School, following which he served with honor in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam Era. A resident of Aurora since 1991, he and his wife were self- employed in numerous transportation businesses through the years. He was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bainbridge. An avid NASCAR fan, he often traveled with both the owners, and drivers all over the country. Jim was truly into “Guy Toys”, and was an enthusiast of all motor sports, and motorcycles. He will forever be remembered for his smile, and all out attitude over life. On September 3, 1995, he married his beloved wife Stephanie (Knowles) Jakosh who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children, Kimberly Hamilton of Houston, Texas, Kaitlyn, Kristin, and Carolyn Jakosh, all of Aurora; brothers, Charles (Claire) Jakosh of Berea, and Scott (Patricia) Jakosh of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his son James T. Jakosh, Jr., and sister Barbara Scott. Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2022, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 17989 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023,from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M., where his funeral service will then begin at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Henderson. Final resting place will then follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Solon, Ohio. Full military honors will be observed by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Following the interment, family, and friends are invited to share a time of fellowship at Grantwood Golf Course.
