Aurora
James John Horley, age 82, of Aurora, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2023 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on October 3, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio. Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years Mary of Aurora, Ohio, daughter Monica (Dan) Rice of Shalersville, Ohio, and sister Laverne (Jerry) Sezemsky of North Royalton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred (Bellery) and John Horley as well as brothers William and Ralph.
Jim will be fondly remembered for his love of travel, having visited 49 states and many countries around the world. His hobbies included reading, watching and listening to Western movies and music, and cutting a LOT of grass! His favorite hymn was How Great Thou Art.
In Jim’s own words: “I hope I am remembered as someone who did what he said he was going to do.”
His family would like to thank Independence Village in Aurora, Grande Village in Twinsburg, and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care.
No calling hours. A private family graveside service and internment will occur at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township, Ohio and will be officiated by Pastor Don Workman.
