Goldie Darlene Wardle, 81 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021, after several years of battling cancer. Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on August 10, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Piper) Cain. A longtime resident of Mantua, she was known by her middle name, Darlene, for most of her life. She enjoyed quilting, coloring, crafting, and attending services at Calvary Free Will Baptist in Ravenna. Darlene also will be remembered for her time with family, and making everyone who came to her home feel like family. She dearly loved her pets, and throughout the years her collections of beanie babies, owls, snow globes, dolls, and monkeys, just to name a few adorned her home. On October 1, 1956, Darlene married her beloved husband James H. Wardle, Sr., whose passing took place on June 23, 2020. She also was preceded in death her sisters, Rosemarie Cain, Gail Hackney, and Roberta Skala. Darlene is survived by her devoted children Bryan Wardle, James (Carol) Wardle, Jr., and Darla (Dean) Spencer; dear siblings Robert (Carol) Cain, Joseph (Clara) Cain, Bryan Cain, and Georgia Wilhelm; 8 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday February 11, 2021 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M., where her funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Martin. Final resting place will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Shalersville Township, Ohio. Social distancing, and facial coverings will be observed for all services. For those unable to attend the funeral services, yet still desire to attend the burial, procession to the cemetery will form at the funeral home prior to service time.
