George T. Skupski, 72 years of age, of Mantua, passed away Saturday April 23, 2022. Born in Cleveland Ohio on August 13, 1949, he was the son of George and Dolores (Sobocinski) Skupski. He had been a Mantua area resident for the past 50 years, and had attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. George had been employed at Maplewood Vocational School, and at Mantua Station Drug. Mr. Skupski honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed talking with anyone and everyone he came in contact with. His pride and joy were his children, and he will also be remembered for the love and care he provided for his mother. Survivors include his mother Dolores Skupski of Streetsboro; children George “Rusty” (Claire) of Lakewood and Wesley (Vanisha) of Cleveland; brothers James (Nancy), Michael (Vickie), Steven; sisters Diane Siebert, and Patricia (Pat) Bokesch; and his grandson Elliott. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother David. Calling hours will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio, 44255 from 10:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Procession will then form at the funeral home to Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville, where a graveside funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. Edward Stafford. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post #193.
