Genevieve M. Miner, 96 years of age, passed away Friday January 29, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving daughters. Born on May 7, 1924, in Marion, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mae (Harper) Schoeller. She grew up in central Ohio, and was a graduate of North High School. Mrs. Miner was employed as an Executive Secretary at the Columbus Transit Authority. In the 70’s she was president of the American Cancer Society in Massachusetts helping to raise money for the charity. Following retirement, she returned to Mantua, Ohio with Robert where she enjoyed everything to do with nature, baking, crafting and gardening. On July 29, 1972, she married Robert Miner, who preceded her in death in 2019. Also preceding was her first husband Ralph Gardner, her son Lynn Gardner, and siblings Robert Schoeller and Harriett Drzinski. She is survived by her devoted children Linda Matanis of Florida, Elaine (Chuck) Layman of Colorado, Elise Tripp of California and Lois (Brian) Laver of Mantua; loving grandchildren Richard (Marly), Amy (Timothy),Tishanna, Alicia (Joshua), Daniel, Jason, and 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. No calling hours. Cremation has been held. A private Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
