Gail E Belknap, 75 years of age of Garrettsville, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  Born on April 13, 1947 in Woodlawn, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ollie and Gertrude (Bowers) Hembree.  A homemaker, she had been a resident of the Garrettsville area since 1972.  Gail was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, and enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and watching Days of Our Lives.  Most importantly were the times she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she will always be remembered as “Grandma” to many, many, other children.  On July 17, 1965, she married Delmos Belknap who preceded her in death in 1997.  Also preceding were her siblings Bobby, John, Billy, Don, and Reilly Hembree, Pearl Phillips, Lucille Burnett, Maude Hembree, Dorothy Huntsman, Carolyn Dean, and Ruby Sapp.  Gail is survived by her loving children Willard Belknap, Gary Belknap, Loretta Belknap, and Wanda (Adam) Bly all of Garrettsville. Also surviving are her siblings Henry Hembree of Garrettsville, Barry (Darlene) Hembree of Warren, and 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at The Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail, at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio, 44255 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M., where her funeral service will then begin at 1:00 P.M.  Final resting place will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua Village.  Her video tribute, condolences, and memories may be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
