Edward J. McLaughlin, 85 years of age, passed away Friday July 10, 2020 in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 29, 1934, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Buckwald) McLaughlin. He was a Mantua resident since 1948, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua, and the Mantua Knights of Columbus. Along with his twin brother James, they served with honor in the U.S. Army. Ed had been employed at Ford Motor Company, Walton Hills Division where he retired after 30 years of service, and was a member of UAW Local # 420. Known for his love of sports including bowling, and especially golfing, he also along with his brother started the first Little League in Mantua. The brothers were always interested in helping local youth with activities including both sports, camping and fishing. He is survived by his brother Michael McLaughlin of New York State, sisters Patricia Moris of Cleveland and Theresa, nephews Duane (Shirley) Siracki of Middlefield and Jerry (Deanne) Siracki of Parkman, and other members of the Siracki and Schrader families. He was preceded in death by his twin brother James in 2019, and siblings George and Martin McLaughlin, Donald Schrader, Pat Schrader and Mary McLaughlin. Visitation will be Saturday July 25, 2020 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 10:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M., where his funeral service will then begin at 10:30 A.M.
