Daniel R. Baumbick, 79 years of age, passed away Sunday October 18, 2020 at University Hospital-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 12, 1941, he was the son of the late John J. and Victoria (Hrovat) Baumbich. Dan grew up in Cleveland, and was a graduate of Saint Benedictine High School in 1958. He was employed as sales manager at Safiers Inc. in Cleveland, from where he retired following a very successful career in sales management. A faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua, Dan was very much a part of the Ox Roast Fair, a member of Mantua Knights of Columbus Council # 3766, a 3rd. and 4th.Degree Knight, and for several years was the hall manager at the Knights of Columbus. As hall manager, Dan always believed in treating every person or organization who desired the facility fairly and with his smile assisting those persons. He also was a volunteer at the Center of Hope in Ravenna. He was a coach of girl’s softball with the Mantua Recreation League, and with the Ravenna Recreation League, and those who he coached would go on to share stories for years to come of how much they loved being a part of his teams. For those who have had the pleasure to know Dan, will always remember his smile, great sense of humor, and that Dan truly was a good friend to many…Dan will be greatly missed. On October 8, 1981, he married his beloved wife Charlotte (Hanning) Baumbick who survives at home. Also surviving are his devoted children Dan (Jennifer) Baumbick of Atwater, Lori (Brian) Mancini of Cleveland and Michele Baumbick of Cortland; his dear siblings James (JoAnn) Baumbick of South Carolina and Mary Baumbick of Strongsville; and 12 loving grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter Diane Baumbick, and dear brothers Raymond and Robert Baumbick. No calling hours or services at this time. Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
