Dale Turner, 87 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. On January 22, 1934, Dale was born in Mantua, Township at the family farm home on S.R. 44, to the late Forest and Ruby (Boone) Turner. Dale grew up on that dairy farm, worked hard and raised his family on that farm where he lived his entire life. He was a 1952 graduate of Mantua-Center High School. He was active in his community where he was a school bus driver for the Crestwood school district for 45 year; a volunteer fireman for the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department from 1959 to 1999, where he served as captain. A member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dale ran the Ox Roast Fair tractor pull for 20 years. He loved animals, his family and living on the farm. On May 5, 1956, he married Thelma (Kline) Turner, and they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Glenn Turner, Marcia Fear (Tim), Vivian Fischer (Terry), Bernice Usher (Randy) as well as 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and his sister Arlene Finley. Preceding him were his sisters Ila Powell and Lois Hopkins. Visitation will be Friday April 23, 2021 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Social Distancing And Facial Coverings Will Be Observed. Mass of Christian Burial Will be Saturday April 24, 2021,11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mantua. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH WHERE FACIAL COVERINGS WILL ALSO BE OBSERVED). Officiating will be Rev. Edward Stafford. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Twp., Ohio. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Justin Fischer, Kristopher Fischer, Cory Usher, Austin Usher, Terry Fischer, Randy Usher, and Tim Fear.
