Obituary

SHALERSVILLE

Craig Edward Nemeth, 64 years of age, passed away Thursday April 29, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 30, 1956, he was the son of the late Donald and June (Schultz) Nemeth. A 1973 graduate of Orange High School, he had been a longtime Solon resident, moving to Shalersville in 1994. Craig had been employed as a landscape architect since 1985, and his creative design abilities became a trademark, resulting in both commercial, and residential  homes seeking his skills to enhance their properties. His knowledge of trees, plants, and flowers was second to none. Craig was the landscaper for many years at the Green Family Funeral Home in Mantua, resulting in manicured grounds, and repeated comments about the property he so enjoyed caring for. Craig truly enjoyed riding his Harley to Lake Erie on a sunny afternoon, as well as back roads trips finding places to stop and eat. Craig loved all animals, especially cats and dogs, and the animals loved him in return. Also, his special way with horses was well known! He and his father also shared similar passions to say the least. Craig was an excellent cook, and if you were fortunate enough to have tasted his ribs, chili, and fish, it was almost like being served food at an established eatery. Craig was honest, caring, and true to his heart…his contagious laugh and smile will never be forgotten. On August 8, 1992, he married Denise “Dee Dee” (Fike) Nemeth who survives at home. Also surviving is his sister Teresa (Brad) Young of Hiram, his favorite niece Kayleigh Nemeth, his “Amigo”, the “Amigos”, and all of the loving animals who he cared for each day. A brother Garry Nemeth survives. No calling hours or services at this time. A private family gathering will take place later. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where condolences and memories may be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
