Clifford F. Graebe, 95 years of age of Mantua, passed away Sunday March 15, 2020 at his residence. He was a dedicated and conservative patriot exemplified by his birth on the Fourth of July, 1924 in New York, New York, the son of the late Fred and Florence (Ludwig) Graebe. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and had been a resident of the Mantua area since 1977. He served in the US Navy during World War II, his final assignment being aboard the USS Yukon with the rank of ETM 1/c. Mr. Graebe had been employed at Philco Products for 20 years as Personnel Manager Tech Rep Division. After moving to Mantua, Mr. Graebe was the owner of Graebe & Associates Insurance Company. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed his weekly poker group for 30 years. Clifford was a member of Portage Faith United Methodist Church. On July 1, 1972, he married Barbara (Bullock) Graebe who preceded him in death on October 15, 2008. Survivors include his children Garrick (Ivonne) Graebe of Sugar Land, Texas, Clifford Graebe, Jr. of New York and Holly Enzor of Pennsylvania. Also surviving are his grandchildren Eva, Daniel, Chris, Richard, Stephen, David, Lauren, Cristine and Mark. Family and friends are invited to his calling hours on Friday March 20, 2020 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 3:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. where his funeral service will begin at 4:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Jill Scott of Portage faith United Methodist Church. Military honors will be observed by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. A graveside burial service will be Saturday March 21, 2020, 11:00 A.M. at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, Ohio with Pastor Vernon Shephed officiating.
