GARRETTSVILLE

Charles Rezabek Jr., 93 years of age of Garrettsville, became Our Gift to God on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Chuck was God’s  Gift to Us on August 6, 1928 at Garfield Hts. Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Helen (Prochaska) Rezabek.  Following graduation from Garfield Hts. High School, Chuck honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He attended Hiram College in 1954, and graduated from Packard Electric’s Tool & Die Apprenticeship on March 10, 1958.  He was employed with Packard Electric from where he retired in 1993.  Chuck and his family moved to Nelson Twp. where he resided until marrying the love of his life, Ruth Pelsue, on December 7, 1979.  They resided in Garrettsville until 2019, when they moved to Kent Ridge Assisted Living.  Chuck was a long time member of Garrettsville United Methodist Church, Garrettsville Masonic Lodge, and American Legion Post #674 in Windham.  Chuck and Ruth loved family gatherings and pool parties with family and friends.  They enjoyed traveling, attending to their flower beds, and watching the birds frequent the bird feeders.   Survivors include his children Jane(Pat) Kennedy, Gary(Debbie) Rezabek, Denise (Lee Cook), Brenda Staker, and Cindy(Kenny) Hughes; his grandchildren Nick(Gladys) Rezabek, Aaron(Courtney) Kennedy, Nathan(Rebecca) Kennedy, Chris(Katie) Rezabek, Jeff(Cassie) Rezabek, Sarah Staker, Nelson(McKenna Loomis) Hughes, Carson Hughes; 15 great-grandchildren and many nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Pelsue) Rezabek on November 13, 2020, brother Tony (Ann) Rezabek, sister Helen(Al) Churella, and sons Steve Rezabek, Burt, Charlie and Mack Pelsue.  Calling hours will be Friday April 15, 2022 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Train at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua Ohio 44255, from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M., where his funeral service will then begin at 1:00 P.M.  Officiating will be Pastor Kenny Hagin.  Final resting place will follow at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville, Ohio where full Military Honors will be provided by U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post #193, and Windham American Legion Post #674.  Chuck’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Kent Ridge, and Traditions Hospice.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Garrettsville-Nelson Community Cupboard.  His video tribute, condolences and memories may be viewed at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
