Candy Toth, 68 years of age, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. Born in Somerset, Pennsylvania on April 19, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Bette (Jacobs) Bell. A lifetime Mantua area resident, Candy had graduated from Crestwood High School in 1970. A very active member of the Mantua Center Christian Church, she had been a Sunday school teacher, member of the “Over The Hill Gang”, and in the summer assisting with Camp Christian. She was a former member of Mantua O.E.S. Candy faithfully served Kent State University as a secretary, retiring in 2009 after 38 years of service. Candy maintained a life of joy that included square dancing with the Ravenna Circulators, polka dancing, swimming with the exercise class at Robinson Memorial Hospital, and her times with friends at Susie K’s Café & Tea Room in Ravenna. Winter months would find Candy volunteering with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad as an elf on the Polar Express bringing joy to children and adults alike. Candy loved her travels to Iowa where she could spend time with her grandchildren. Her smile, warm and caring manner will forever remain with those who knew and loved her. On August 11, 1973, she married her beloved husband Daniel P. Toth who survives at home. She is also survived by her devoted children Keri (Jeremy) Hayes of Mantua and Shana (Patrick) McDonald of La Porte City, Iowa; her dear brother Keith (Pam) Bell of Garrettsville and her loving grandchildren Abigail, Jillian, Dominic, and Savannah. Her dear sister Cheryl Steinbrink preceded her in death. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Her funeral service will be Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. Social distancing and face masks will be observed. For those who might not be able to attend the funeral service, procession to the cemetery will form at the funeral home at 9:45 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Chad Delaney.
