Wilma Jean Brown, 85 years of age, became Our Gift to God Sunday November 18, 2018. Wilma was God’s Gift to Us on February 19, 1933 in Auburn Township, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Flossie (Hurd) Bishop. A lifetime Auburn resident, she was a 1952 graduate of Auburn High School. A homemaker, Wilma also had been employed as a cook at Kenston High School retiring in 1993. Wilma enjoyed life to the fullest which included Square Dancing and a member of The Hub Square Dancing group, a 4-H Leader with Cloverleaf for many years, sewing, baking and horses. The years that she and her husband spent traveling all of the United States created lasting memories, yet she will always be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren, and all of their love for her. On August 29, 1953, she married her beloved husband Willis E, Brown who preceded her in death on August 28, 2007. Also preceding were her dear sisters Hazel Ostrode and Doris Fejedelem. Wilma is survived by her devoted children Paul (Wendi) Brown, Sr. of Windham, Wayne Brown and Patti (John) Phillips both of Auburn; her dear sister Julia “Peggy” Winchell of Mantua, and her loving grandchildren Heidi Marie, Paul,Jr., Polly, Heidi Fawn, Justina, and her cherished great-granddaughter Dakota. Calling hours will be Sunday November 25, 2018 from 2:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 (S. of Rt.422). Funeral services will be Monday November 26, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Auburn Community Church, 11076 Washington St., Auburn Twp. Ohio 44023 where visitation will also be held from 10:30 A.M. until service time. Officiating will be Rev. Lucille Abernathy. Final resting place will follow at Shadyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Auburn Fire Department or to her church.
