William W. DeWees, 89 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Saturday September 7, 2019 at Aurora, Ohio. He was God’s Gift to Us on April 19, 1930 in Kenna, West Virginia, the son of the late Denver and Virgie (Skeen) DeWees. A resident of Aurora since 1959, Mr. DeWees had been employed at Harshaw Chemical for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. DeWees held dearly his Christian Faith, and was a former member of Grace Cathedral in Cuyahoga Falls. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, an avid bowler, and loved gardening having the ability to make anything grow. On June 20, 1948, he married his beloved wife Mary B. (Davis) DeWees who survives at their home. Also surviving are his devoted children Deborah (Kenneth) Kinford of Aurora, Michael (Mona) DeWees of Washington, Pennsylvania and Carl DeWees of Aurora; his dear sister Velda Stalnaker of Ravenna, Ohio; 6 loving grandchildren and 3 loving great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Thursday September 12, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Mullett of New Life Church in Aurora. Final resting place follow at Aurora City Cemetery.
