William “Joe Bell” Barnes, 80 years of age, passed away Saturday March 30, 2019 at his residence. Born in Rose Hill, Virginia on August 23, 1938, he was the son of the late William R. and Georgia M. Barnes. A resident of the Windham area for 60 years, he had been a self-employed drywaller. Joe Bell enjoyed watching western movies, country western music, horse shoes, playing cornhole and out in this shed always fixing things. “His Babies” will always remember “Pappy” babysitting them and the cherished time they had with him. On November 5, 1988, he married his beloved wife Glennis M. (Marstiller) Barnes who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Anthony (Alice) Marstiller of Ravenna, Trisha (Matthew) Zabrosky of Windham, William “B.J.” Barnes and Jody Barnes. His brother Jack (Mary) Barnes, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his children Jimmy Barnes, Jackie Barnes, and sister’s Elizabeth and Vivian. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Friday April 5, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Final resting place will follow at Windham Township Cemetery.
