Wayne Marik, 75 years of age, passed away Saturday June 22, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Fairlawn, Ohio. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine (Hysek) Marik. Wayne grew up in Cleveland and was a 1961 graduate of Cleveland South High School. A resident of the Mantua area since 1978, he was the owner-operator of Mantua Cad Design for over 20 years. Wayne enjoyed riding his Harley, playing the Accordion, and was an avid Cleveland Sports fan. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mantua. His superior woodworking talents were evident in the remolding of the family century home in Mantua. A gentleman with a wealth of knowledge, he will be remembered as a teacher and willing to share what he knew with others. Wayne also held a high degree of Patriotism for his country. Cherished memories of Wayne will forever include his devotion to family, and the support he shared for his grandchildren, especially with their softball and bowling activities. On January 30, 1965, he married his beloved wife Judy (Casavecchia) Marik who survives at their home. He is also survived by his children Wendy of Rootstown and Holly (John) Toke of Mantua; his sister Laura Sloan of Sylvania, Ohio, and his loving grandchildren Elizabeth, Emily, Andrew, Nicholas and Samantha. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday June 26, 2019, 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd., Mantua, Ohio 44255. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Officiating will be Rev. Edward Stafford. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Twp., Ohio.
