Rudolph A. “Rudy” Gall, 87 years of age, passed away Sunday June 9, 2019 in Middlefield, Ohio. Born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio on September 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Anton and Anna (Gyokeres) Belanszky. Rudy grew up in Auburn where he graduated from Auburn High School in 1949. During the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Rudy was employed at Kennametal as a tool and die maker from where he retired. Active in numerous community affairs, he held membership in the Hiram Christian Church, served with the Hiram Volunteer Fire Department, coached Little League in Hiram, was a member of the Hungarian Culture Club, and was an active member of American Legion Post No. 193 in Mantua, often being a part of the Honor Guard for funerals and other community events. Memories of Rudy will forever include his warm and inviting smile, and the many years that he and Nancy enjoyed dancing, especially at the club where he would assist and show his proud Hungarian heritage. On March 15, 1952, he married his beloved wife Nancy A. (Krause) Gall who survives at home. Also surviving are his devoted children Andy (Darlene) Gall of Solon and Lori (Dixon) Slingerland of Aurora; brother Emery Gall of Mentor, Ohio; loving grandchildren Katie, Andrea, Annie, Kacie, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Calling hours will be Monday June 17, 2019 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. and Tuesday June 18, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. -11:00 A.M. where his funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Rev. Jason Bricker-Thompson. Final resting place will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Hiram Rapids, Ohio, with full military honors observed by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
