Robert J. Farley, 92 years of age, passed away Saturday April 20, 2019. Born in Freedom Township, Ohio on April 3, 1927, he was the son of the late Ray and Bessie M. (Davis) Farley. Bob was a 1945 graduate of Freedom High School, following which he served in the U.S. Army during World War II under McArthur. A lifetime Garrettsville resident, Bob was the owner-operator of Farley-Ellerhorst Insurance from 1979 until retiring in 1995. He served on the Garrettsville Village Council, and was a very active member of the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Garrettsville United Methodist Church, and Garrettsville Masonic Lodge No. 246 F.& A.M. where he was Master from 1958-1959. While Bob enjoyed traveling, memories of him attending school functions of his daughters and grandchildren will forever be cherished. On April 3, 1948, he married his beloved wife Jean (Russell) Farley who survives at their home. He is also survived by his devoted children Denise (Mark) Ellerhorst and Sally Everett, both of Garrettsville, and his loving grandchildren Andrew (Zaia) Ellerhorst, Jeffrey (Lydia) Ellerhorst, Max (Karman) Ellerhorst, Alex (Amie) Ellerhorst, Caitlin (Jacob) Lawless, and Paige and Scott Everett, and 10 cherished great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death in 2015 by his devoted daughter Sharon Farley, and his brother Paul Peppard and sister Gladys Long. Masonic services will be held on Saturday April 27, 2019, 10:30 A.M. at the Garrettsville United Methodist Church, 8223 Park Avenue, Garrettsville, Ohio 44231, and all are welcome to attend the Masonic service. A Celebration of Life will then follow at the church beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Richard Thewlis officiating. Immediately after family and friends will be received at the church for a luncheon and time of fellowship. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the church in his name. Private burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
