Richard John Krzys, 75 years of age, passed away Monday February 19, 2018 at his residence in Aurora, Ohio. Born in Youngstown, Ohio on November 23, 1942, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Stella (Sanok) Krzys. He was a resident of the Mantua area since 1972, and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua. Mr. Krzys graduated from Solon High School, and then from GMI, following which he earned his Master’s at Case Western Reserve. With an Electrical Engineering degree in hand he started his career journey. He was employed at Samuel Moore & Company for several years, then was the owner of Portage Supply & Crestwood Heating. He was a self-employed consultant during which time he traveled the U.S. for 10 years. Mr. Krzys was employed at Benjamin Media in Penisula, Ohio for several years where he finished his career. He loved to watch all sports, was an avid history buff, truly enjoyed making maple syrup, and making shaker boxes. Family was very important to Mr. Krzys, and the family vacations to Disney World and watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events will forever be memories that they will have of their husband, father and grandfather. He also was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop # 575 for 42 years. On July 11, 1964, he married his beloved wife Mary E. (King) Krzys who survives at their home. Also surviving are his devoted children Mark (Loretta) Krzys of Auburn Township, Gregory (Jamie) Krzys of Sacramento, California, Jennifer (Jim) Hill of Boston, Massachusetts and Danielle (Dwayne) Vannoy of Mantua; his dear siblings Mike (Chris) Krzys of Garrettsville and Bernie (Phyllis) Krzys of Valley City, Ohio; and 7 loving grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Visitation will be Saturday February 24, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. with closing prayers at 12:15 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd., Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating.
