Maryellen Craven, 87 years of age, passed away Thursday June 21, 2018 at her residence. Born in Yorktown,Iowa on January 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clare and Elizabeth (Roscher) Ross. A 1949 graduate of Lehman High School in Canton, she has been a lifetime Newbury resident. Mrs. Craven had been employed as a line supervisor at Scott Laboratories in Bainbridge where she retired after 27 years of service. A very active member of Fellowship Bible Church in Bainbridge, she served with both the Children’s Ministry and AKT Ministry. Her membership in the Chagrin Falls Eagles No. 2436 started in 1974 where she served as secretary for 26 years. She also held the position of District No. 21 Eagles Officer, District Mother, North East Zone Co-Coordinator, Zone Charity Chairman, Secretary of District 21, and Past President. She was an active bowler for many years, yet with all of her activities, those who knew and loved Mrs. Craven will forever cherish the memories of a lady who always was there for family and friends, never turning anyone away in their time of need. Mrs. Craven is survived by her devoted children Terrence (Sara) Craven of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy Craven of Troy Township, James Craven of Newbury, Paul Craven of Chardon, Clarice (James) Rybicki of Auburn Township, and Corinne (Mike) Sebrasky of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; dear brother Mark “Butch” (Carole) Harris of Atlanta, Georgia; 19 loving grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dear siblings Robert Harris and Bettyann Sartor, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law Melissa Craven in 2018. Calling hours will be Monday June 25, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44 (S. of Rt. 422), Mantua, Ohio 44255, from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. where Chardon Eagle’s No. 2261 will begin a service at 7:00 P.M. A graveside burial service will be held Tuesday June 26, 2018, 10:00 A.M. at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Rt. 306, Chesterland, Ohio officiated by Pastor Lud Golz.
