Leona Ann Livezey, 91 years of age, died Saturday December 28, 2019 at her residence. Born in Palmyra Township, Ohio on July 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Isabelle Lewis. Leona and her husband Ralph were childhood sweethearts, and graduated together in the class of 8 students from Palmyra High School in 1946. Leona returned to teaching as a third grade teacher at Hiram Elementary School, after raising her 4 children. She had a talent for quilting, basket weaving, crocheting, needlepoint and many other crafts. She enjoyed family get-togethers and loved to provide homemade meals for people. She was also known for her potato salad which was enjoyed each year at the Mantua Potato Festival. She and her husband were avid campers, and enjoyed traveling the United States, as well as worldwide trips. Leona was a resident of Mantua since 1967, where she belonged to the Hilltop Christian Church. On August 26, 1950, Leona married Ralph A. Livezey who survives at their home. Also surviving are Her son Mark Livezey and his wife Eva Strain Livezey, Grand-daughter Jamie Freiden, her husband Andrew Freiden and their children Helena and Nathan, Grand-son Darren Livezey, his wife Claudia Bolocco Livezey and their children Aiden and James; Her daughter Dawn Livezey Thompson and her husband Lee Thompson, Grand-daughter Arianna Youssefi Atkins, her husband Jesse and their son Adam, Grand-son Alex Youssefi, Grand-daughter Anna Youssefi; Her son Dennis Livezey and his wife Melinda Frazier Livezey,Grand-son Rick Wanyek, Grand-daughter Allison Wanyek Decker, her husband Jeff and their son Michael; Her son Doug Livezey and his wife Marianne Thomas Livezey, Grand-son Jesse Livezey and his wife Sarah Maslov, Grand-daughter Mara Livezey. Grand-son Nicholas Livezey. A service will be Friday January 3, 2020, 6:00 P.M. at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 West Prospect Street, Mantua, Ohio 44255.
