John Dziga, 67 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Thursday August 31, 2017 at his residence. John was God’s Gift to Us on June 18, 1950 in Kopystna, Poland the son of the late Piotr and Katherine (Grabowska) Dziga. Formerly of Cleveland, he had resided in the Mantua area the past 12 years. John honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army.  He was a longtime member of The Shrine Church of Saint Stanislaus in Cleveland, and had been employed as a foreman at Cleveland Track Material in Cleveland, retiring in 2011 after 40 years of service.  While he enjoyed watching Soccer on T.V. and playing cards with family members, traveling in his RV with Linda over much if the United States and their time spent together and his fishing created memories that will forever be cherished. He will be missed by family and friends for the love he had for them, as well as their love for him. On December 31, 2005, he married his beloved wife Linda K. (Collins) Dziga who survives at their home. He is also survived by his devoted son Robert  (Sharon) Shaw of Newbury; dear brother Stan (Debby) Dziga of San Antonio, Texas; loving grandchildren Megan, Lexie and Michael; brother-in-law’s Ricky (Anne) Collins of Hiram and Ronnie (Phyllis) Collins of Newton Falls and 3 nephews and 2 nieces.  Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 (S. of St. Rt. 422 ). Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday September 6, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at The Shrine Church of Saint Stanislaus, 3649 East 65th. Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44105 with Rev. Fr. Eric S. Orzech officiating. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Final resting place will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield, Ohio where full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
