Duncan (Pete) Merrow age 85, passed away peacefully at his home with his loved ones at his side on Thursday, August 1, 2019. Born March 3, 1934 in Folkston, GA, Pete was raised by the late Thomas and Ollie Vera (Woolard) Merrow in St. Mary’s GA. Moving to Ohio in 1952, Pete owned and operated Oakwood Disposal until he sold the business in the early 60’s. Pete proudly dedicated 41 years to the Ford Motor Co at the Walton Hills stamping plant until retiring in 1995. As a loyal 52 year member of the Masonic Lodge of Bedford, Pete was raised to Master Mason in 1967. Pete enjoyed gardening, visiting his childhood home town spending time with his friends and family and chatting with his morning coffee group. Pete will be fondly remembered and cherished as a wonderful father of 8, grandfather of 12, great grandfather of 17, great-great grandfather of 1 and devoted husband. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Patricia, siblings Raymond Curtis (Anna) Merrow and Daisy Marie (Jake) Johnson, loving father to George (Angie) Merrow, Debbie (Mike) Lee, Rick (Linda) Zamecnik, Mike (June) Zamecnik, Bob (Jenny) Zamecnik, and Patty (Greg) Lucak and an abundance of extended family, friends and former co-workers. He was preceded in death by son, Jimmy Zamecnik, granddaughter, Sarah Lucak, and brother, Cleveland Retus Merrow. A private family event will be held and Pete will be laid to rest with his family in Folkston GA.
