Dorothy A. “DoDo” Bodnar, 84 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Monday August 12, 2019 in Aurora, Ohio. Mrs. Bodnar was God’s Gift to Us on April 21, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Ogrinc) Jacklin. A longtime Mantua resident, she moved to Aurora in 2015. Mrs. Bodnar was a homemaker, and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Bainbridge Township. “DoDo” was “The Baker” in the family, always in charge and using her cooking skills for all special family events and holidays. Her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were most important to Dorothy, and their love for “DoDo” and her love for them will forever be cherished. Dorothy also enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with her husband for many years. On June 6, 1953, she married the love of her life Richard J. Bodnar who preceded her in death in 2014. Also preceding was her devoted daughter Shelley Rose Zigman in 2005. Survivors include her devoted daughters Sharon (Joe) Gaudino of Parma and Sue (Gary) Johnson of Aurora; her dear siblings Thomas Paliyan and Margaret Ann Podazaj both of Cleveland, and 11 loving grandchildren and 15 cherished great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday August 17, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, Ohio 440223, where visitation will also be held from 10:30 A.M. until time of Mass. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
