David C. Koffroth, 71 years of age, passed away Thursday July 26, 2018 at his residence. Born in Akron, Ohio on February 8, 1947, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Helen L. (Hall) Koffroth. A lifetime Shalersville area resident, he had been employed as an engineer for 20 years at Furon Industries, then at ILPEA Industries in Aurora for 15 years retiring in 2018. David served with honor in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua. David was a member of the Summit County Lapidary Club, enjoyed gardening, and was very talented with his skills in creating stained glass lamps, and stone cutting for custom jewelry. His beloved wife Veronica will forever cherish the special times they spent in the Virgin Islands each year, and his family and grandchildren will always remember the love they had for David, and his love for them. On May 15, 1976, he married his beloved wife Veronica A. (Oberle) Koffroth who survives at their home. Also surviving are his devoted daughters Tracy Lynn Englert of Nelson Twp., Melissa (Jonathon) Rohrer of Shalersville and Jennifer (Jason) Baril of Ravenna; dear siblings Don (Carol) Koffroth of Georgia and Christine, and Janet Robb both of Canton, Ohio, and 7 loving grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday August 1, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of State Route 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 4:00 P.M. -5:00 P.M. where his funeral service will begin at 5:00 P.M. Officiating will Be Rev. Edward Stafford. Full military honors will be observed by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Following cremation a private family interment will be held. In Lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Portage County APL in his name.
