Carl V. Zeleznik, Sr.January 11, 1951 ~ December 28, 2017 (age 66)
Carl V. Zeleznik, Sr., 66 years of age, passed away Thursday December 28, 2017 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 11, 1951, he was the son of the late Anthony L. and Pauline J. ( Bolko ) Zeleznik. Formerly of Hiram, Carl had been a longtime Mantua area resident, and a 1969 graduate of Crestwood High School. A self- employed owner-operator in the trucking industry, he started his own trucking business Sierra Trucking in Mantua in 1997. He was a member of Friendship Alliance Church. A hard working man all of his life, Carl enjoyed restoring classic cars. Carl was a true “People Person” who was always there helping others if needed, and he will forever be remembered as being able to make people laugh, a jokester, while at the same time sharing his sincere personality to care for others. His smile and compassion will always be cherished by his family and many friends. On October 18, 1970, he married his beloved wife Kristine Ann (Blanchard) Zeleznik who survives at their home. He is also survived by his devoted children Carl ( Ginger) Zeleznik, Jr. of Mantua, Tim (Patty) Zeleznik of Missouri and Carrie ( James) Leister of Mantua; his dear sisters Arline ( Joseph ) Nosse of Richmond Hts., Beatrice ( Ray ) Brom and Corinne Vondle both of Garrettsville, and his 9 loving grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday January 3, 2018 from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Friendship Alliance Church, 19126 Ravenna Road (Rt. 44) Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023, where his funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Officiating will be Mr. Mike Mager. A graveside burial service will be Thursday January 4, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio.(Prosession to the cemetery will form at the church leaving at 10:00 A.M.)In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations Living Waters Fellowship For Missions LWF Missions.org.
