Betty June Jackson, 77 years of age, passed away Tuesday December 31, 2019 at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Braxton County, West Virginia on October 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John and Gracie (Groves) Smith. A resident of the Mantua-Freedom area the past 50 years, Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garrettsville. A homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, crafting, and the cherished times she spent with her grandchildren and family. On June 30, 1966, Betty married Stanley G. Jackson, Sr. who survives at their home. Also surviving are her sons Stanley G. (Shannon) Jackson, Jr. of Mogadore and Kevin (Jacqueline) Jackson of Garrettsville; brother John (Melody) Smith of Lake Milton, sister Wanda (Ed) Stout of Tifton, Georgia, and her grandchildren Kara, Lucas and Eric. She was preceded in death by her sisters Peggy Smith and Shirley Smith. Calling hours will be Sunday January 5, 2020 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 5:00 P.M.- 6:30 P.M. where her funeral service will begin at 6:30 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor David Gray. A graveside service will be held Monday January 6, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at Hoover Cemetery, Braxton County, West Virginia.
