Barbara Ann Simmons, 82 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Saturday September 14, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Simmons was God’s Gift to Us on August 16, 1937 at Junior, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Franklin and Blanche (Hymes) Pingley, Sr. A resident of Windham from 1953, she then moved to the Garrettsville area in 2013. A 1956 graduate of Windham High School, she was a homemaker, and a longtime member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Garrettsville. An avid reader, she also enjoyed camping, yet most importantly was the love for her family, and their love for mom.On June 30, 1956, Mrs. Simmons married her beloved husband Rossil L. Simmons who preceded her in death on September 18, 2009. Also preceding was her loving granddaughter Leanne Brosius-Osborne, dear siblings Frank Pingley, Jr., Shirley Banicki and Sharon Cowger. Survivors include her devoted children Randall (Monica) Simmons of Longwood, Florida, Charles (Eileen) Simmons, David (Christine) Simmons and Vicki (Darrell) Brosius all of Garrettsville and Joy (David) Lawson of Ocala, Florida; dear brother Charles Pingley of Howland, Ohio; 15 loving grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Funeral services will be Friday September 20, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 10585 Windham-Parkman Road, Garrettsville, Ohio 44231 with Pastor Michael Grantz officiating. Final resting place will then follow at Windham Township Cemetery.
