Janice S. Murton, 75 years of age, passed away Sunday March 13, 2011 at her residence. Born on December 7, 1935 in Middlefield, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mneatha (MaGee) Buchanan. She was a longtime resident of the Middlefield and Burton areas, living in Freedom Township since 2010. Mrs. Murton was employed at JOBAP Assembly in Middlefield for 12 years as an assembly worker. She enjoyed bowling with her husband for many years as a pastime. Survivors include her daughter Dianne (Maury) Ashick of Freedom Township, sisters Jeananne Adamic of Burton and Gayle (James) Shaffner of Washington State and her grandchildren Jason and Brandy and great-grandchildren Halle, Nadia, Kolton and Andrea. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Murton in 2000 and her sisters Anita Rowe, Sheryl Buchanan and Judy Buchanan and her brother Jim Buchanan. Visitation will be Friday March 18, 2011 from 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua. Cremation will follow and she will be laid to rest at Middlefield Cemetery.
