Edward J. Hocevar

HARTSGROVE-MANTUA

Edward J. Hocevar, 80 years of age, passed away Friday October 22, 2010 at University Hospital-Geauga Regional Medical Center in Claridon Township. Born on July 18, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, Ed was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Salmick) Hocevar. A longtime resident of both Aurora and Mantua, he had lived the past 7 years in Hartsgrove. Ed  was a supervisor in the Power House at Ford Motor Company, Walton Hills division, retiring in 1989 after 21 years of employment. He was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ed always enjoyed socializing with family and friends, and found being outdoors,working with tractors,chopping wood and being in the woods as some of his most enjoyable times spent. Ed is survived by his wife Pat (Cargould) Hocevar at their home; his children Daniel Hocevar of North Olmstead, Douglas (Andrea) Hocevar of Mantua, Mark (Patricia) Boling of Florida,  Denise (Gus) Marzullo of Indiana and Sheri (Khim) Standen of Stow; his sisters Geraldine Salvadore of Willoughby, Patricia (Ronald) Suster of Euclid and Irene Laudani of Chagrin Falls and his grandchildren David and Nicole. He was preceded in death by his children  David Hocevar and  Guy Boling. Visitation will be Wednesday October 27, 2010 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where his funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Michael Garvey of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua officiating. Ed will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon with full military honors.
