GARRETTSVILLE

Robert G. Fellenstein, Sr., 93 years of age, passed away Sunday April 9, 2017 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 27, 1923, he was the son of the late Richard and Mae (Klein) Fellenstein. Bob had been a resident of the Garrettsville area the past 20 years, formerly being a longtime Aurora resident where he had been a graduate of Aurora High School class of 1942.  During World War II, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Blue.  Bob had been employed as an electrician at Chrysler Twinsburg from 1959, until he retired in 1989.  An avid golfer, he enjoyed all sports, especially supportive of Cleveland Sports Teams, and in addition participated in several bowling leagues where his skills were seen in bowling his 300 game. He will most importantly be remembered, and cherished by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. On July 23, 1943, he married Doris L. “Dodie” Fellenstein who preceded him in death in 2001. He is survived and will be truly missed by his second wife Mildred Fellenstein; his loving children Terry A. (Terry) Fellenstein of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Robert G. Fellenstein, Jr., John R. (Lori) Fellenstein and William T. (Stephanie) Fellenstein all of Aurora, Marty (Deborah) Fellenstein of San Diego, California, Kim (Darwin) Brosius of Garrettsville and Pam (Nick) Costello of Berlin Hts., Ohio. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday April 13, 2017 from 6:00 P.M.-7:30 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where services will begin at 7: 30 P.M. including Military Honors by U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Final resting place will be at Aurora City Cemetery.
