Paula HunterJune 22, 1949 ~ December 28, 2017 (age 68)
Paula Hunter, 68 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Thursday December 28, 2017 at the Hospice of The Western Reserve in Cleveland. Paula was God’s Gift to Us on June 22, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. A 1967 graduate of Geneva High School, she had lived in the Mantua area since 1972. Paula was a skilled musician and was proud to be part of the Hiram Chamber Orchestra, where she played violin. She loved to play the piano, and this time of year you could find her singing in the Christmas Choir at Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls where she was a member. Paula also loved all living creatures. From cats to bunnies, and from geese to ants, Paula always opened her heart and her home to an animal in need down to saving the smallest spider. Lucky for us, her big heart wasn’t specific to animals. Most of all, Paula loved her family. She held many hats as she worked for the family business, Hunters 3 Inc. for nearly 25 years. You wouldn’t dare leave her house without eating something first. She never missed a grandchild’s choir concert, dance recital or sporting event and happily traveled the map just to watch. And no matter the family occasion, you can bet she’d be there with her video camera capturing the memories and love. Paula warmed the hearts and homes of everyone that was lucky enough to have her in their life. She will never be forgotten and will always be missed. Special thanks to everyone that sent well wishes or stopped by the house over the past few months. As well as a special thanks to her Home Health Nurse, Linda. On September 7, 1968, she married Harry D. Hunter who survives at their home. Also surviving are her sons Harry, Jr. Hunter of Shalersville and Matthew (Lorena) Hunter of Mantua; her sisters Joanne (John) Gilmore of Virginia, Carol Lopez of Erie, Pennsylvania and Teresa Voss of Mantua, and her grandchildren Troy Hunter, Tyler Mae Hunter, Taylor Hunter, Brooke Hunter and Adrien Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Josephine Heisterman. Paula will forever be remembered as a loving devoted wife and mother and outstanding grandmother. Calling hours will be Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Church of Aurora, 79 East Mennonite Road, Aurora, Ohio 44202, where her funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Drew Carroll. Final resting place will be at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday January 3, 2018. (Procession will form at the church Wednesday morning leaving for the cemetery at 9:30 A.M.)
