Lonetta Kay Witt, 71 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Monday July 10, 2017at her residence following a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Witt was God’s Gift to Us on March 31, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Katherine (Henderson) Brisendine. A longtime resident of the Mantua area, Lonetta grew up in the Elkview, West Virginia area, and was a 1964 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School in Clendenin, West Virginia. She had been employed as an editor at Harris Publishing in Twinsburg. A member of the Mantua Country Baptist Church, she was very active with their Willing Workers ladies group. Lonetta was a talented artist, and also enjoyed sewing, painting and creating crafts for her friends and family. The love that Lonetta had for her family and friends, and their love for her, will forever leave lasting memories of this special lady. On August 23, 1963, she married her loving husband Michael A. Witt who survives at their home. Also surviving are her devoted children Mark (Shirley) Witt of Shalersville and Michelle (Jimmy) Thomas of Clinton; her dear siblings Bill Brisendine of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Una Lee (Maxie) Mullins of Charleston, West Virginia; her cherished grandchildren Letta (Jason) McDole, Tricia (Ricky) Barker, Amber (Blake) Cikity and Taylor Thomas and 8 great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, friends and family. Funeral services will be Thursday July 13, 2017 12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. until the time of services. Officiating will be Pastor Murray Bay. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
