Diane HuraJanuary 16, 1942 ~ February 12, 2017 (age 75)
Diane Hura, 75 years of age, passed away on Sunday February 12, 2017. Diane was born in Ravenna, Ohio on January 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Earl and Wilma (Burchett) Whaley. On June 1, 1963, she married her loving husband of 54 years, Martin Hura who survives at their home. Also surviving are her daughters Lisa Hura of Kent and Lori Hura of Ravenna; and her brother David Whaley of Clovis, California. Diane was a lifelong resident of Mantua and deeply involved in its civic affairs. She was an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Neighborhood Watch, and for nearly 15 years she was the editor in chief of the local newslatter, Mantua Matters. Even from her hospital bed, Diane worried about getting out the latest issue, and asked for her laptop to begin working on it. She could most often be found on her front porch with a cup of coffee, waving to neighbors and keeping an eye on her corner of the world. At Diane’s request there will be no calling hours, but the family will be hosting a reception for family and friends on Sunday February 26, 2017 at the Mantua Village Lodge on East High Street, from 1:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be greatly appreciated to the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department Rescue Squad. 10303 St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua where her obituary, condolences and memories may be shared at www.greenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
