AURORA

Dale E. Myer, 72 years of age, passed away Monday April 3, 2017 at his residence. Born in Monterey, Pennsylvania on November 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Willard and Ruth (Esbenshade) Myer. Dale grew up in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School, following which he attended  Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. A resident of Aurora the past 10 years, he formerly was a longtime Newbury resident.  Dale was employed as President of Sales at Kraftmaid from where he retired in 2000.  Dale attended First Baptist Church in Aurora where he shared his woodworking skills with the church.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, was an avid NASCAR and Cleveland Browns fan, and will always be remembered as the man who “Loved To Grill”. On September 21, 2009, he married Glenna Sue (Marstiller) Myer who survives at their home.  Also surviving are his son Thad (Shauna) Gingrich  of Hiram; daughters Julie (Brian) Maurer and Cari Gingrich both of Chippewa Lake, Ohio and Rochelle Reeves of Florida; brothers Wilmer (Martha) Myer of Cocolamus, Pennsylvania and Don (Blanche) Myer of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; sister Almeda (Mahlon) Shenk  of Lititz, Pennsylvania an 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Greg Myer. Calling hours will be Sunday April 9, 2017 from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Funeral services will be Monday April 10, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Aurora, 79 East Mennonite Road, Aurora, Ohio 44202 with Pastor Drew Carroll officiating. Final resting place will follow at Aurora City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The American Society.
