Ariel Alice Kimmel, 91 years of age, passed away Wednesday July 5, 2017 at her home in Mantua. Born in Ravenna, Ohio on October 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Virgie (Pittman) Wilson. She grew up in Ravenna, and was a graduate of Ravenna High School. A resident of Mantua the past 50 years, Mrs. Kimmel had been employed by the Crestwood School System, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints-Hiram Branch. Mrs. Kimmel first met her husband at Idora Park in Youngstown where they developed a lasting love for each other, and for Roller Coasters, after riding the “Wildcat”, and for many years they traveled to numerous amusement parks to ride the roller coasters. She loved farm animals, especially her cats and dogs. On May 22, 1947, she married Keith E. Kimmel who survives at their home. Also surviving is her nephew David Petit of Pennsylvania and her niece Linda Wyers of Mantua. No calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday July 7, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, with Bishop Thomas Aardema officiating.
